Cape Research and Diver Development
Ocean enthusiasts, we’ve got something RAD to share with you!
Join us in an expedition of the great unknown as we dabble in a bit of exploration of the deep sea, at the hands of Cape Research and Diver Development, or Cape RADD, if you like. Whilst they’re based in Simon’s Town, the global marine habitat is their unrivalled passion. Cape RADD is a marine field station, focussing on conservation, research and adventure. They specialize in projects that monitor and investigate the biodiversity of a global hotspot, home to more than 3500 endemic marine species, using transects, quadrats, remote underwater video and mark-recapture.
Immerse yourself in the thrillingly exhilarating experience of Kelp Forest Snorkel, manned by their experienced marine biologists on a fish and shark ID survey, where the crew will teach you about the Marine Protected Areas and how to identify fish and sharks. Furnished with a data slate and pencil, or a camera, you have the opportunity to snorkel your way to oceanic bliss!
